From a snackbar to a delicatessen, to a hotel: this is the success story of the hotel Furian. Today the hotel is renowned for its warm-hearted, feel-good atmosphere. The dream of becoming a hotel became a reality in 1972, and is still lived today. But even the delicatessen of those early years had the reputation of being something special.
Not only because of the good quality and the wide range of fresh, home-made specialities, but also - and particularly - due to the guests’ experiences. During production of the numerous films made in the 50s and 60s around Lake Wolfgang, prominent individuals and stars from the film industry would meet in the Furian.
Franz Antel, Peter Alexander, Robert and Einzi Stolz, Marricka Röck, Waltraut Haas, Gunther Phillip, Margot Hilscher, Annie Rosar, Lisl and Paul Löwinger, Conny Froebess and Peter Weck to name but a few! ‘The White Rolls Royce’ with Curd Jürgens, the ‘Everyman’ from the Salzburg Festival, in which the dining scene was filmed in the Furian lounge, is still talked about today!
